No name, no email address. Open the app and start using it right away. A sample Japanese/English/Chinese meeting is included, so you can see what it does even with no one to talk to.

PRIVACY

Built to keep as little of your conversations as possible.

Transcripts, translations and recordings are stored on your device. Our servers never store what was said, and the data sent to the AI service is not used to train its models.

MADE IN JAPAN

Designed and built in Japan.

Planned and developed in Japan, with care over everything from the wording on each screen to the smallest interaction.

* If you turn on the feature that improves recognition, Kaguya may store short phrases it misheard. You can turn this off in Settings and delete stored phrases at any time. See the Privacy Policy for details.

TWO WAYS TO USE KAGUYA

Understand it now. Learn from it later.

Kaguya is more than a translator. The same app that helps you follow a conversation in the moment can turn what you heard into something you keep.

NOW

Understand it now

Mode: Interpret

Speech becomes text and translation as it's spoken, whoever is talking and in whatever language. When you're done, an AI summary pulls out what was decided and what comes next.

LATER

Learn from it later

Mode: Study

The original, its translation and the phrases worth learning line up, all taken from what was actually said. Tap a line to hear it again from the moment it was spoken.

Tap New recording and choose Interpret or Study. Both are in the same app.

Before, during, and after every meeting.

Catching the words isn't enough to move a meeting forward. Kaguya helps you understand, speak up, look back, and carry it into the next one.

DURING

Read the discussion as it happens.

Speech becomes text in real time, with a translation beside it. Missed a line? It's right there on screen.

WHEN YOU SPEAK

Don't just keep up. Drive the conversation.

When you truly understand what's being said, you can speak with confidence. Go from reacting to leading.

AFTER

Go straight back to what mattered.

The recording, transcript, translation and notes stay together as one record. An AI summary gives you the big picture, so you can go back and check exactly what someone meant.

NEXT TIME

Your own conversations become the lesson.

Learn the words and phrases that actually came up. Not from a textbook, but from your own work.

Two people across a café table. One has Kaguya open on an iPad, and the other person's words appear on screen with a translation beneath each line.
The conversation keeps moving. You no longer wait to understand.

STUDY MODE

What you hear becomes what you learn.

Today's conversations become your lessons.

No textbook sentences. Kaguya learns from the language you actually ran into today, at work, in a café, on the news, and turns it into lessons made from your own day.

  1. Let it listenA conversation around you, the TV, a video or the radio. Just set your phone nearby.
  2. See both side by sideWhat was said and what it means, paired sentence by sentence.
  3. Phrases are picked outExpressions worth learning, with their meaning and how they're used.
  4. Listen back laterTap “Original” on a line to hear it from the moment it was spoken, or “Translation” to hear the translation read aloud.

Every phrase comes from what was actually said. The AI never invents related words to pad the list. Choose the language you want to learn in Settings. Any supported language other than your own works.

Princess Kaguya before a full golden moon.

Across any distance.

In the Japanese folktale The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter, Princess Kaguya shares her heart across the vast distance between the moon and the earth.

A different language can open that same distance, even between people in one room. We named the app Kaguya in the hope that what you mean can cross it, and arrive just as you meant it.

Kaguya supports 17 languages and tells them apart automatically. Switch Settings to Manual and narrow down the languages you use, and recognition becomes more accurate.
